Our sponsors

A carbon-neutral scooter safari through South Africa.

It started out as a dream - a dream of exploring, photographing and documenting South Africa's natural beauty, the inspiring environmental projects that aim to conserve this and replenish what's been lost, and to share our discoveries with the rest of the world.

This project would not have been possible without the support and assistance of our sponsors. Thus we'd like to offer our sincere gratitude to the following organisations and people:

Bike Zone

Bike Zone is a group of individually-owned Motorcycle and Accessory Trading Stores with a huge range of high-quality, durable and performance gear. Bike Zone are sponsoring us two Caberg helmets so that we can be safe while we enjoy the ride.

Overboard supplies high quality, long-lasting, durable and 100% waterproof bags and cases, an essential for any adventurer. They've provided us with waterproof backpacks and kayak bags, which we'll use as panniers and front bags for our bikes.

Evosat is a Tier-1 Inmarsat distribution partner of broadband mobile satellite communications. They've provided us with an Immersat Satellite Phone, which ensures we're connected in the event of any emergency!

Scootcafe logo

Scoot Cafe, located in Stellenbosch, do rentals, sales and maintenance on all kind of scooters, from vintage Vespas to modern 4-stroke types. They also do complete and awe-inspring restorations. Niel and Johan have been there from the start - advising us, training us in scooter repairs and assisting us with maintenance and support. Many thanks to you both!

Scoots, in Fourways Johannesburg, sponsored us some TLC for our tired and dusty scooters when we arrived in Johannesburg on the last leg of our journey. They gave our scooters a service, fixed my electric starter, cleaned them up beautifully and were practically purring when we left!

X-Kulcha designs extreme lifestyle apparel and biker wear that's comfortable and looks great. We've got a pair of Easy Overs each - water-resistant and extremely durable pants that easily fit over our jeans with front zips. Super cool!

sabonamza logo

Sabonamza offers tours, safaris and expeditions throughout Southern Africa. We received invaluable advice on responsible tours and conservation in South Africa, as well as on our route. They also sponsored us the Garmin Oregon 300.

Deep Design

A top branding, digital and print studio in Cape Town, Deep Design offers creative and strategic partnerships to help brands communicate and grow. Deep Design is committed to having a carbon-neutral operation and uplifting the country.

They provided us with eco-friendly printing of our business cards, posters, stickers and other branding materials using vegetable based inks, recycled products and energy-efficient presses.

Green expo

The Green Expo is a sustainable exhibition held in Johannesburg and Cape town to showcase green and sustainable products and services. They've sponsored us a stand for three days where we can spread the word about the work Food & Trees for Africa is doing, and promote responsible lifestyles and travel. We'll also be giving a presentation at the event!

Print Design Studio located in Johannesburg, was kind enough to sponsor us eco-friendly printing of our banners and poster for the Green Expo - just in time to get our stand up and looking great! Our large banner was printed on a material called gem light using an ink-jet printer. Special thanks to Liz Matticks for coming through at such short notice!

asgard logo

Asgard Apartments offer superior self-catering accommodation in Somerset West, Cape Town. One of our first sponsors, Asgard allowed us to stay in one of their fully-equipped apartments for as long as we needed to plan our trip. Thanks Annagret and Carl!

We'll also be promoting their associated green search engine,, which plants one tree for every 500 searches.

Keeping the environment in mind, they use recyclable and renewable products for all their boxes and stationery. They'll be supplying us with two pairs of tough, waterproof hiking boots.
